Olympique Lyonnais secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Nice, propelling them to the top of the Ligue 1 standings on Sunday. This win came as previous leaders Monaco suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 1-0 to Lorient. Five teams are now level on 14 points, with Lyon leading on goal difference. Lyon's victory was hard-fought, as they played with ten men for the final 20 minutes after a red card. The French league's top positions are tightly contested with multiple teams sharing the same points.
