New winter anti-pollution restrictions in Delhi have led to significant traffic congestion at the national capital's borders, with vehicles queuing for emission checks. The traffic snarls occurred as Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) rose to 261, the worst reading of the season. Heavy congestion was reported at the Delhi-Gurugram and Delhi-Noida borders, where traffic police were checking vehicles. These measures, including restrictions on older vehicles and a cap on office attendance, are in place until February 28 to curb pollution.
