Lucknow University Hostellers Protest V-C Office Over Insects in Food

Hostel inmates at Lucknow University’s Kailash Hostel protested at the vice-chancellor’s office on Wednesday over alleged insects and hair found in mess food. Students claimed that despite written complaints on September 19, no action was taken, and insects reappeared in food on Wednesday. Previous complaints detailed issues like unwashed utensils, unhygienic conditions, and staff misbehavior. Following the protest, the mess operation has been stopped from October 1, and mess fees will be refunded to students.

लखनऊ यूनिवर्सिटी के कैलाश हॉस्टल के हॉस्टल में रहने वाले छात्रों ने बुधवार को वाइस-चांसलर के दफ्तर पर मेस के खाने में कथित तौर पर कीड़े और बाल मिलने को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। छात्रों का दावा है कि 19 सितंबर को लिखित शिकायत के बावजूद कोई कार्रवाई नहीं हुई और बुधवार को खाने में फिर से कीड़े मिले। पिछली शिकायतों में बिना धुले बर्तन, अस्वास्थ्यकर स्थितियां और स्टाफ का दुर्व्यवहार जैसी समस्याएं बताई गई थीं। विरोध प्रदर्शन के बाद, 1 अक्टूबर से मेस का संचालन बंद कर दिया गया है और छात्रों को मेस की फीस वापस कर दी जाएगी।
