TOI - Delhi · india
Tamil Nadu is launching a pilot study in Tenkasi to assess if mosquito-repellent creams can help reduce dengue infections. The study, covering 33 wards in Kadayanallur municipality, will be conducted by the National Institute of Epidemiology and the public health department. Researchers will evaluate the repellents' effectiveness alongside existing control measures, check for side effects, and gauge user willingness. If successful, the government may integrate repellents into its dengue prevention program. Separately, a pilot study is examining the delivery and effectiveness of Qdenga, a dengue vaccine approved in India.
