CPI(M) Replaces Palakkad District Secretary After Election Setbacks

The Hindu · india

The CPI(M) has removed E.N. Suresh Babu as Palakkad district secretary, appointing former MLA V. Chenthamarakshan to the post. This decision follows a review of the party's recent electoral performance, which saw setbacks in Assembly and local-body elections in the traditionally strong CPI(M) district. The party lost three Assembly seats and experienced a significant decline in its vote share. Members cited Babu's alleged arrogance and ineffective leadership as contributing factors to the party's organisational problems and electoral defeats.
