Centre Rejects Metro Rail For Coimbatore, Madurai

The Centre has once again ruled out the possibility of a Metro Rail system for Coimbatore and Madurai. The Ministry stated that a Metro Rail would not offer significant time savings for commuters in these cities. Instead, the government has recommended strengthening the existing bus system.
