Telangana Power Firm Warns Farmers Against Illegal Electric Fencing After Student Deaths

Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL) has issued a stern warning to farmers against installing illegal electric fencing around their fields. This action follows the tragic electrocution deaths of two engineering students who accidentally came into contact with such fencing. The farmer had erected the GI wire fencing to protect his paddy crop from wild animals. TGSPDCL authorities stated that such unauthorized installations are illegal, punishable under the Electricity Act 2003 and the BNS 2023, and pose a severe threat to human and animal lives.

सदर्न पावर डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन कंपनी ऑफ तेलंगाना लिमिटेड (TGSPDCL) ने किसानों को अपने खेतों के चारों ओर अवैध बिजली की तारबंदी लगाने के खिलाफ कड़ी चेतावनी जारी की है। यह कार्रवाई दो इंजीनियरिंग छात्रों की दुखद बिजली से मौत के बाद हुई है, जो गलती से ऐसी तारबंदी के संपर्क में आ गए थे। किसान ने जंगली जानवरों से अपनी धान की फसल की रक्षा के लिए जीआई तार की बाड़ लगाई थी। TGSPDCL अधिकारियों ने कहा कि इस तरह की अनधिकृत स्थापनाएं अवैध हैं, बिजली अधिनियम 2003 और BNS 2023 के तहत दंडनीय हैं, और मानव तथा पशु जीवन के लिए गंभीर खतरा पैदा करती हैं।
