Streaming giant Netflix has laid off approximately 1,000 employees, marking its largest job cut since 2022. The move aims to address slowing growth and intense competition in the streaming market. These layoffs will affect about 6% of the company's total workforce, with most cuts expected in product, technology, legal, and HR teams. Co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters informed employees via email about the decision. This comes as Netflix faces pressure to accelerate growth and diversify revenue streams beyond traditional subscriptions.
