Times of India · politics

Israel's Shin Bet security agency is investigating suspicions that Qatar and Turkey may have sent illegal funds into the country to influence voting in Arab communities during recent elections. Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg ordered the inquiry after receiving information from Shin Bet chief David Zini describing the suspicions as "extraordinary in its seriousness." Qatar has categorically denied any interference. The investigation is not expected to delay the announcement of final election results or prevent coalition formation.
