Prayagraj Drainage Overhaul: ₹1,500 Crore Project to End Waterlogging Woes

Prayagraj is set to receive a comprehensive drainage system overhaul with an investment of approximately ₹1,500 crore, following directives from the Allahabad high court. A city-wide drone survey is currently underway to identify waterlogging-prone areas and assess existing drains, with completion expected by December. Based on this survey and expert input from MNNIT, a detailed master plan will be prepared to address recurring flooding. The project aims to provide a permanent solution to waterlogging in residential areas and on roads, particularly during heavy rains when river levels restrict outflow.

प्रयागराज में जल निकासी का बड़ा काम ₹1,500 करोड़ से जलभराव की समस्या होगी खत्म

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट के निर्देश के बाद प्रयागराज में करीब ₹1,500 करोड़ के निवेश से एक व्यापक जल निकासी प्रणाली का काम शुरू होने वाला है। जलभराव वाले इलाकों की पहचान करने और मौजूदा नालों का आकलन करने के लिए पूरे शहर का ड्रोन सर्वे चल रहा है, जो दिसंबर तक पूरा हो जाएगा। इस सर्वे और MNNIT के विशेषज्ञों की राय के आधार पर, बार-बार होने वाली बाढ़ से निपटने के लिए एक विस्तृत मास्टर प्लान तैयार किया जाएगा। इस प्रोजेक्ट का मकसद खासकर भारी बारिश के दौरान, जब नदियों का जलस्तर जल निकासी को रोकता है, तब आवासीय इलाकों और सड़कों पर होने वाले जलभराव का स्थायी समाधान प्रदान करना है।
