Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has strongly criticised the Delhi Police, calling alleged actions against women protesters "utterly shameful." He stated it is a grave concern that women protesting violence against women have themselves become victims of police violence. This criticism follows allegations by three women journalists of sexual harassment by police personnel while covering a protest at Jantar Mantar. Their complaints have been transferred to the Crime Branch for an impartial inquiry, drawing condemnation from journalists and opposition parties.
