Senior Election Commission officials will visit five poll-bound states starting this week to oversee election preparedness at the field level. Teams will visit Goa, followed by Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Manipur in the coming weeks, with Uttar Pradesh's visit yet to be announced. This proactive measure involves officials assessing readiness before the election schedule is declared. As part of preparations, Uttar Pradesh and Goa have begun first-level checks on electronic voting machines and paper trail units to ensure their functionality and clear any previous data.

चुनाव आयोग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी इस हफ़्ते से पांच चुनावी राज्यों का दौरा करेंगे ताकि ज़मीनी स्तर पर चुनाव की तैयारियों का जायज़ा लिया जा सके। टीमें गोवा जाएंगी, उसके बाद आने वाले हफ़्तों में उत्तराखंड, पंजाब और मणिपुर जाएंगी, जबकि उत्तर प्रदेश का दौरा अभी तय नहीं है। इस सक्रिय कदम में अधिकारी चुनाव कार्यक्रम घोषित होने से पहले तैयारियों का आकलन करेंगे। तैयारियों के हिस्से के तौर पर, उत्तर प्रदेश और गोवा ने इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वोटिंग मशीनों और पेपर ट्रेल यूनिट्स की पहली स्तर की जांच शुरू कर दी है ताकि उनकी कार्यक्षमता सुनिश्चित की जा सके और पिछले डेटा को साफ़ किया जा सके।
