The Supreme Court has stated it has neither approved nor disapproved the new Form 6 declaration for voter registration, clarifying it has not adjudicated on its validity. The court will examine the issue, with Chief Justice Surya Kant cautioning lawyers against misinterpreting observations. The new form requires applicants to declare if they or their parents were mapped in previous intensive revisions, a change opposed by some Election Commissioners. The Election Commission had previously suggested the court had upheld the new form, a claim now refuted.
