Sugar mill workers from across Karnataka gathered in Belagavi for a state-level convention and protest rally. They demanded the implementation of the 7th Tripartite Wage Agreement and the resolution of various worker grievances. Labour leaders alleged that new labour codes undermine workers' rights, leading to livelihood uncertainty. The convention passed resolutions seeking legal measures to vacate the High Court stay on wage implementation and expedite the dispute settlement process. Ministers assured that legitimate grievances would be discussed and addressed.
