Indian 10-Year Bond Yield Hits 4-Month High
Economic Times Markets · stocks
India's benchmark 10-year government bond yield surged to a four-month peak of 7.1391% on Friday, marking its sixth consecutive weekly loss. This rise was driven by a significant selloff in U.S. Treasuries and concerns over rising global yields, inflation, and policy tightening. The market is bracing for a large debt auction of 340 billion rupees later today. Analysts anticipate the Reserve Bank of India will likely raise interest rates on October 7 to combat inflation and manage liquidity.
