Historic Cleveland Auto Factory Bought For $300,000 To Be Redeveloped Instead of Demolished
Times of India · business
A historic 7.3-acre industrial complex in Cleveland, formerly the Winton Motor Carriage Works, has been purchased for $300,000 by a developer planning its phased redevelopment. The site, which once housed America's largest gasoline-car maker, was slated for demolition earlier this year. The new owner aims to stabilize and maintain the 260,000-square-foot property before beginning substantial renovations. This acquisition marks the developer's largest undertaking to date, with potential tenants already identified. The factory played a significant role in the early American automobile industry, producing Cleveland's first commercially manufactured car in 1898.
