Fed Governor Signals More Rate Hikes Needed

Federal Reserve Governor Michael Barr indicated that further interest rate hikes are likely necessary to control inflation. He stated that risks to achieving the Fed's inflation target have increased, while risks to the labour market have lessened. Barr noted that US economic growth and the labour market remain strong, but inflation is still above the 2% goal. He believes further policy adjustments are needed to bring inflation down in a timely manner.
