Nainital, a popular tourist destination in Uttarakhand, experienced a massive influx of approximately 12,000 tourists during the Gandhi Jayanti holidays and a long weekend. This surge led to significant traffic congestion, with vehicles queuing for several kilometers, particularly on the route to Kainchi Dham. The heavy volume of cars, buses, and two-wheelers caused traffic to move at a snail's pace, leading to considerable delays for visitors. Many tourists faced wasted travel time, with some even missing their trains, disrupting their holiday plans.
