लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला ने सार्वजनिक खातों समितियों (PACs) से आग्रह किया है कि वे सुनिश्चित करें कि सार्वजनिक धन का हर रुपया हिसाब में हो और उसी उद्देश्य के लिए इस्तेमाल हो जिसके लिए वह है। संसद और राज्य विधानसभाओं के पीएसी अध्यक्षों के एक सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए, बिरला ने जोर दिया कि सार्वजनिक खर्च में जवाबदेही लोकतंत्र के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने कहा कि पीएसी सरकारी योजनाओं में पारदर्शिता, समय पर सुधारात्मक कार्रवाई और भविष्य में होने वाली चूक को रोकने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। बिरला ने कहा कि शासन और सार्वजनिक निवेश की बढ़ती जटिलता वित्तीय अनुशासन की निगरानी में पीएसी के महत्व को बढ़ाती है।
