Cyclone Arnab Intensifies; Andaman & Nicobar Schools Shut Till Tuesday

The Andaman and Nicobar administration has ordered all schools to close for two days, October 26 and 27, due to the looming threat of Cyclone Arnab. The Directorate of Disaster Management has advised extreme caution, urging fisherfolk not to venture into the Bay of Bengal and recommending that all tourism and recreational activities be avoided. The India Meteorological Department reported that the deep depression has intensified into a cyclonic storm and is expected to become a severe cyclonic storm by midnight.

चक्रवात अर्नाब के बढ़ते खतरे को देखते हुए अंडमान और निकोबार प्रशासन ने 26 और 27 अक्टूबर को दो दिनों के लिए सभी स्कूलों को बंद करने का आदेश दिया है। आपदा प्रबंधन निदेशालय ने अत्यधिक सावधानी बरतने की सलाह दी है, मछुआरों से बंगाल की खाड़ी में न जाने का आग्रह किया है और सभी पर्यटन एवं मनोरंजक गतिविधियों से बचने की सिफारिश की है। भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने बताया कि गहरे दबाव का क्षेत्र एक चक्रवाती तूफान में तेज हो गया है और आधी रात तक गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान बनने की उम्मीद है।
