SLBC tunnel project completion will allow drawing water from the Srisailam reservoir's dead storage level, ensuring irrigation even during severe droughts. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated this, highlighting the project's aim to resolve fluoride issues and boost agriculture in Nalgonda district. Initially conceived at ₹2,000 crore, the project faced delays but has resumed work at a brisk pace. The government is committed to agricultural prosperity through this initiative, building on previous successes like the Brahmana Vellamla project.

SLBC टनल प्रोजेक्ट पूरा होने से श्रीशैलम जलाशय के डेड स्टोरेज लेवल से पानी खींचा जा सकेगा, जिससे भयंकर सूखे में भी सिंचाई सुनिश्चित होगी। सड़क और भवन मंत्री कोमाटिरेड्डी वेंकट रेड्डी ने यह बात कही, उन्होंने कहा कि इस प्रोजेक्ट का मकसद नलकोंडा जिले में फ्लोराइड की समस्या को हल करना और खेती को बढ़ावा देना है। शुरुआत में ₹2,000 करोड़ की लागत से बनी इस परियोजना में देरी हुई लेकिन अब काम तेजी से फिर से शुरू हो गया है। सरकार इस पहल के माध्यम से कृषि समृद्धि के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है, जो ब्राह्मणा वेल्लामला परियोजना जैसी पिछली सफलताओं पर आधारित है।
