Kolkata experienced a massive surge of shoppers and early pandal visitors on the final Sunday before Durga Puja. Commercial hubs like Gariahat and Hatibagan, along with New Market and malls, were packed with revellers completing festival preparations. Many also queued up outside major pandals, some not yet open, for an early glimpse of the community pujas. Despite traffic slowdowns, authorities managed to keep roads open. Traders reported brisk sales of imitation jewellery and garments, expressing optimism for the coming days.

दुर्गा पूजा से पहले आखिरी रविवार को कोलकाता में खरीदारों और पंडालों में शुरुआती जाने वालों की भारी भीड़ देखी गई। गरियाहाट और हाथीबागन जैसे व्यावसायिक केंद्र, न्यू मार्केट और मॉल के साथ, त्योहार की तैयारियों को पूरा करने वाले लोगों से भरे हुए थे। कई लोग प्रमुख पंडालों के बाहर कतार में भी लगे थे, जिनमें से कुछ अभी तक खुले नहीं थे, ताकि सामुदायिक पूजाओं की शुरुआती झलक देख सकें। यातायात धीमा होने के बावजूद, अधिकारियों ने सड़कों को खुला रखने में कामयाबी हासिल की। व्यापारियों ने नकली गहनों और कपड़ों की अच्छी बिक्री की सूचना दी और आने वाले दिनों के लिए आशावाद व्यक्त किया।
