India Orders Coal Plants To Maximize Power Output

India has directed over 100 captive coal-fired power plants to operate at maximum capacity from October 1 until the end of the year. This emergency measure, invoked under the Electricity Act, aims to meet an anticipated surge in electricity demand. The order applies to plants with a minimum installed capacity of 50 megawatts and primarily serves industrial facilities. This directive comes as nearly 40% of coal-fired plants face critically low fuel stocks due to increased demand.

भारत ने 100 से ज़्यादा कोयला बिजली संयंत्रों को 1 अक्टूबर से साल के अंत तक पूरी क्षमता से चलाने का आदेश दिया है। बिजली की बढ़ती मांग को पूरा करने के लिए यह ज़रूरी कदम उठाया गया है। यह नियम 50 मेगावाट क्षमता वाले संयंत्रों पर लागू होगा, जो ज़्यादातर उद्योगों को बिजली देते हैं। दरअसल, मांग बढ़ने से करीब 40% कोयला संयंत्रों में कोयले का स्टॉक बहुत कम हो गया है।
