The Supreme Court of India has expressed grave concern over Delhi's severe air pollution, with the Chief Justice questioning the steps being taken to combat it. An amicus curiae highlighted that residents are exposed to air quality equivalent to smoking 30 cigarettes daily, impacting their voices. While rain temporarily reduced pollution, the focus on stubble burning alone is insufficient, as transportation is identified as the primary contributor in the NCR region. The court also noted the difficulty in monitoring vehicles entering Delhi from across the country.
