JNU Fires Professor Accused of Sexual Harassment

Jawaharlal Nehru University has dismissed Professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam following allegations of sexual harassment. The university issued an order, stating his immediate removal from service. This decision was based on an internal inquiry and the committee's recommendations. The ABVP had previously protested, claiming 11 female students filed complaints against the professor. Professor Akoijam had denied the allegations, calling them an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

जवाहरलाल नेहरू यूनिवर्सिटी ने प्रोफेसर अंगोमचा बिमोल एकोइजम को यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के बाद बर्खास्त कर दिया है। यूनिवर्सिटी ने एक आदेश जारी कर कहा कि उन्हें तत्काल सेवा से हटाया जाता है। यह फैसला आंतरिक जांच और समिति की सिफारिशों पर आधारित था। एबीवीपी ने पहले विरोध प्रदर्शन किया था, जिसमें दावा किया गया था कि 11 छात्राओं ने प्रोफेसर के खिलाफ शिकायतें दर्ज कराई थीं। प्रोफेसर एकोइजम ने आरोपों से इनकार किया था और उन्हें अपनी प्रतिष्ठा को धूमिल करने का प्रयास बताया था।
