The Odisha government has accelerated evacuation efforts from vulnerable areas as Cyclone Murasu intensified into a severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal. Southern Odisha is expected to experience heavy rainfall due to the storm, which is projected to make landfall in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Disaster response teams, including NDRF and ODRAF personnel, have been pre-positioned across districts. Officials have alerted District Collectors and placed southern districts on high alert to manage the potential impact of the cyclone.
