A Delhi court has sentenced former councillor Tahir Hussain to two years of rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 10,000 fine for abetting riots during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots. The court found that Hussain provided his house, a vantage point, for rioters to attack people and damage property. It stated that a leader is expected to act as a restraining influence in communally charged environments. This is Hussain's second conviction in connection with the riots, which the court considered an aggravating circumstance.

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने पूर्व पार्षद ताहिर हुसैन को 2020 के पूर्वोत्तर दिल्ली दंगों के दौरान हिंसा भड़काने के आरोप में दो साल की कठोर कारावास और 10,000 रुपये के जुर्माने की सजा सुनाई है। अदालत ने पाया कि हुसैन ने दंगाइयों को लोगों पर हमला करने और संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचाने के लिए अपने घर का इस्तेमाल करने दिया, जो एक बेहतर जगह थी। अदालत ने कहा कि नेताओं से उम्मीद की जाती है कि वे सांप्रदायिक रूप से तनावपूर्ण माहौल में संयम बरतें। दंगों के संबंध में यह हुसैन की दूसरी सजा है, जिसे अदालत ने एक गंभीर परिस्थिति माना।
