Uttar Pradesh has reduced speed limits on its expressways for the winter months, effective. Private vehicles will now be restricted to 100 kmph, down from 120 kmph, while heavy motor vehicles must adhere to an 80 kmph limit. UPEIDA is implementing these changes due to reduced visibility during winter. Speed limits may be further lowered if dense fog impacts visibility on these high-speed corridors. Enforcement will be carried out by patrolling personnel on key expressways across the state.
