Indian Railways Successfully Tests Kavach Automatic Train Protection System
Times of India · india
The East Central Railway (ECR) has successfully tested the Kavach automatic train protection system, a crucial step towards enhancing railway safety. During the trial, two locomotives on the same track automatically stopped at a safe distance, demonstrating the system's collision prevention capabilities. Kavach is designed to automatically apply brakes and alert pilots in unsafe conditions. This successful demonstration is expected to accelerate the deployment of Kavach across critical ECR routes, aiming to significantly minimize the risk of train accidents and ensure safer passenger journeys.
