New Tiruvallur Bus Terminus Commercial Spaces Remain Unused

Three months after its operational launch, the new Tiruvallur bus terminus is struggling to attract businesses, with only a handful of its nearly 100 planned shops open. Despite a daily footfall of approximately 10,000 passengers, the commercial spaces remain largely vacant. Experts suggest a phased leasing model prioritizing essential services and transparent e-auctions. The terminus, built at a cost of ₹36 crore, has the capacity for 56 buses and handles numerous services daily, serving passengers travelling to various destinations.

शुरू हुए तीन महीने हो गए हैं, लेकिन नए तिरुवल्लूर बस अड्डे पर बिज़नेस नहीं आ पा रहे हैं। यहाँ लगभग 100 दुकानों में से बस कुछ ही खुली हैं। रोज़ाना करीब 10,000 यात्री आने के बावजूद, ज़्यादातर दुकानें खाली पड़ी हैं। जानकारों का कहना है कि ज़रूरी सेवाओं को प्राथमिकता देते हुए और पारदर्शी ई-नीलामी के साथ किश्तों में लीज़ देने का मॉडल अपनाना चाहिए। ₹36 करोड़ की लागत से बना यह बस अड्डा 56 बसों की क्षमता रखता है और रोज़ाना कई सेवाओं का संचालन करता है, जिससे यात्री अलग-अलग जगहों की यात्रा करते हैं।
