A 75-year-old man from Udupi has been defrauded of Rs 14,35,724 in a sophisticated stock trading scam. He was initially lured by promises of high returns through a social media link, which led him to a fake trading platform. After initial small investments showed profits, the fraudsters pressured him to deposit more money, including taking loans for a purported IPO allotment. When he tried to withdraw his funds, they demanded an additional fee, after which they disappeared. A police case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

उडुपी के एक 75 साल के बुजुर्ग को एक चालाकी भरे स्टॉक ट्रेडिंग स्कैम में ₹14,35,724 गंवाने पड़े हैं। उन्हें शुरुआत में सोशल मीडिया लिंक के ज़रिए ज़्यादा मुनाफ़े का लालच दिया गया था, जिससे वे एक नकली ट्रेडिंग प्लेटफॉर्म पर पहुँच गए। शुरुआती छोटी रकम पर मुनाफ़ा दिखने के बाद, ठगों ने उनसे और पैसे जमा करने का दबाव बनाया, जिसमें एक कथित IPO अलॉटमेंट के लिए लोन लेना भी शामिल था। जब उन्होंने पैसे निकालने की कोशिश की, तो उन्होंने एक अतिरिक्त फ़ीस मांगी, जिसके बाद वे गायब हो गए। पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर लिया है और जांच चल रही है।
