A significant boardroom dispute has erupted at Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, concerning the future direction of the conglomerate. The board approved a new five-year term for executive chairman N Chandrasekaran and plans for a potential public listing. However, Noel Tata, chairman of Tata Trusts and the largest shareholder, opposed both decisions, calling the chairman's reappointment "illegal".
