Residents in southern Panama have started cleanup efforts following a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck on Friday. The tremor caused widespread damage, particularly in Chitre, the capital of Herrera province, leaving many homes affected and residents without electricity. Over 100 aftershocks, some as strong as magnitude 6.0, have been recorded, increasing fear among the population. While no deaths have been reported, around 30 people were treated for minor injuries. The United States has pledged rapid support, mobilizing resources and personnel to assist with the recovery.
