Nilgai Capture Operation in Ujjain Postponed Due to Pilot's Mandatory Rest Day
Times of India · environment
The second phase of an operation to capture nilgai using the South African boma technique in Ujjain has been postponed. The operation, scheduled to begin on Saturday, was delayed because the helicopter pilot was observing a mandatory no-flight day as per Directorate General of Civil Aviation norms. Forest officials and the South African team will now commence the exercise on Sunday morning. The captured nilgai are intended for relocation to the Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary in Mandsaur, addressing issues of crop damage and highway accidents caused by the animals.
