India-US Relations Strong Despite Trade Issues, Says Piyush Goyal

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal stated that India-US relations are strong and substantive, extending beyond trade to encompass economic, political, security, defense, and technology imperatives. He emphasized that the relationship is consequential for the world, being between two large democracies. Goyal acknowledged past trade friction, including tariffs and geopolitical issues like India's purchase of Russian oil, but expressed confidence that agreements can be reached. He asserted that the ties are resilient and will continue to strengthen irrespective of political changes in either country.

वाणिज्य मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने कहा कि भारत-अमेरिका संबंध मजबूत और सारगर्भित हैं, जो व्यापार से परे आर्थिक, राजनीतिक, सुरक्षा, रक्षा और प्रौद्योगिकी की अनिवार्यताओं तक फैले हुए हैं। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि यह संबंध दो बड़ी लोकतांत्रिक शक्तियों के बीच होने के कारण दुनिया के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। गोयल ने टैरिफ और रूस से भारत के तेल खरीद जैसे भू-राजनीतिक मुद्दों सहित अतीत के व्यापारिक घर्षण को स्वीकार किया, लेकिन विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि समझौते किए जा सकते हैं। उन्होंने दावा किया कि यह संबंध लचीला है और दोनों देशों में राजनीतिक बदलावों के बावजूद मजबूत होता रहेगा।
