North Korea Accuses South of Fabricating Landmine Blast, Warns UN

North Korea has sent a letter to the United Nations Security Council accusing South Korea of fabricating a landmine explosion that injured three soldiers. Pyongyang claims Seoul groundlessly shifted blame for a dubious incident to provoke a military invasion. North Korea warned that violations of its sovereignty could trigger self-defence measures. South Korea had blamed North Korea for a September 21 explosion inside the Demilitarized Zone, calling it a violation of the armistice agreement. The US-led UN Command also stated mine placement by North Korea violated the agreement.

उत्तर कोरिया ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद को एक पत्र भेजकर दक्षिण कोरिया पर तीन सैनिकों के घायल होने वाले लैंडमाइन विस्फोट को गढ़ने का आरोप लगाया है। प्योंगयांग का दावा है कि सियोल ने सैन्य आक्रमण को उकसाने के लिए एक संदिग्ध घटना का दोष बिना किसी आधार के उस पर मढ़ दिया। उत्तर कोरिया ने चेतावनी दी है कि उसकी संप्रभुता के उल्लंघन से आत्मरक्षा के उपाय शुरू हो सकते हैं। दक्षिण कोरिया ने 21 सितंबर को असैन्यकृत क्षेत्र (Demilitarized Zone) में हुए विस्फोट के लिए उत्तर कोरिया को दोषी ठहराया था, और इसे युद्धविराम समझौते का उल्लंघन बताया था।
