He claimed Disney executives were put off when Sagar attended a crucial meeting wearing shorts and had broken English. Modi, who had a marketing and distribution ecosystem with Disney, had approached them to co-produce the show. Disney executives reportedly agreed to meet Sagar after Modi insisted, but were unimpressed by his attire and communication. The executives couldn't grasp the potential of a mythological epic on such a grand scale for Indian television at that time.
