केरल के वन मंत्री शिबू बेबी जॉन ने मुत्तिल पेड़ कटाई मामले की जांच का आदेश दिया है, जिसमें पूर्व राजस्व सचिव ए. जयतिलक द्वारा जारी आदेश की परिस्थितियों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है। मंत्री ने बताया कि अधिकारियों ने इस आदेश से बड़े पैमाने पर पेड़ कटाई की आशंका जताई थी। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि साजिश के आरोपों और जांच में हुई खामियों की भी जांच की जाएगी, जिसमें अदालत द्वारा बताई गई कमियों के बाद संशोधित आरोप पत्र दाखिल किया गया था। सरकार यह जांच करेगी कि क्या पिछली कार्रवाइयों ने जानबूझकर आरोपियों को अभियोजन से बचने में मदद की।
