Supreme Court Dismisses TMC Faction's Plea to Operate Four Frozen Bank Accounts

The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea by a Mamata Banerjee-led TMC faction seeking to operate four bank accounts frozen by the West Bengal Police. A bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and P.B. Varale stated they would not interfere with the Calcutta High Court's order, which had previously refused the plea. The court noted that the Election Commission has frozen the party's symbol, leaving the entitlement to the funds pending adjudication.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ममता बनर्जी के नेतृत्व वाले TMC गुट की उस याचिका को खारिज कर दिया है जिसमें पश्चिम बंगाल पुलिस द्वारा फ्रीज किए गए चार बैंक खातों को संचालित करने की अनुमति मांगी गई थी। जस्टिस एम.एम. सुंदरेश और पी.बी. वराले की बेंच ने कहा कि वे कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट के उस आदेश में दखल नहीं देंगे, जिसने पहले ही याचिका को ठुकरा दिया था। कोर्ट ने कहा कि चुनाव आयोग ने पार्टी का सिंबल फ्रीज कर दिया है, जिससे फंड के अधिकार का मामला अभी विचाराधीन है।
