Neeraj Chopra Withdraws From Asian Games Javelin

Neeraj Chopra, the defending champion and two-time Olympic medallist, will not participate in the men's javelin final at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. He had previously won gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games with a throw of 88.88m. Chopra announced his withdrawal from the remainder of the season due to a ligament tear in his ankle sustained during training. This injury also led to his pull-out from the Diamond League Finals. Yash Vir Singh has been named as his replacement.
