The man, identified as Tanup Dey alias Bapun, was arrested in connection with a 63.7-kg ganja seizure case. He was taken into transit remand in Malkangiri district, Odisha. On October 26, he allegedly died by suicide in the police station's washroom. A departmental inquiry has been initiated to investigate all aspects of the incident.
