A faction within the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has appointed senior vice-president Rajesh Bhandari as acting president, revoking the suspension of secretary general Pramod Kumar. This move occurred at an executive committee meeting, ahead of a no-confidence vote against president Ajay Singh. However, BFI executive director Arun Malik rejected the meeting's validity, stating it lacked proper notice and presidential approval. Malik asserted that the federation does not recognise Bhandari's appointment or any resolutions passed. The confrontation highlights deep divisions within the BFI's leadership.
