Delhi Woman Becomes 'Cake Wali Aunty' For Slum

Payal Kumar, inspired by a slum child's unfamiliarity with cutting a cake, started Project Utsav in Delhi. This initiative has celebrated the birthdays of approximately 1,000 children in the city who had never experienced such joy. Kumar's work, which began with providing meals during the COVID-19 lockdown, has expanded into the NGO Feed the Souls, offering education and skills training. The project aims to make these children feel valued and special.

पायल कुमार ने दिल्ली में एक झुग्गी बस्ती के बच्चे को केक काटते हुए न देखकर 'प्रोजेक्ट उत्सव' शुरू किया। इस पहल के तहत, शहर के करीब 1,000 ऐसे बच्चों के जन्मदिन मनाए गए हैं जिन्होंने कभी ऐसी खुशी का अनुभव नहीं किया था। कोविड-19 लॉकडाउन के दौरान भोजन उपलब्ध कराने से शुरू हुआ पायल का काम अब 'Feed the Souls' नाम के NGO में बदल गया है, जो शिक्षा और कौशल प्रशिक्षण भी देता है। इसका मकसद इन बच्चों को खास महसूस कराना है।
