Karnataka is experiencing a significant 35% rain deficit, leading to a sharp increase in the prices of rice and toor dal. Rice prices have risen multiple times since August, with varieties like Sona Masuri now costing ₹80 per kg, up from ₹75. Toor dal prices have also jumped by ₹10-15 per kg in just ten days. Cultivation targets for paddy and toor dal were missed, with sown areas falling short of last year's figures.

कर्नाटक में 35% बारिश की भारी कमी के कारण चावल और अरहर दाल की कीमतों में भारी उछाल आया है। अगस्त से चावल की कीमतों में कई बार बढ़ोतरी हुई है, जिसमें सोना मसूरी जैसी किस्मों की कीमत ₹75 से बढ़कर अब ₹80 प्रति किलोग्राम हो गई है। अरहर दाल की कीमतों में भी सिर्फ दस दिनों में ₹10-15 प्रति किलोग्राम की वृद्धि हुई है। धान और अरहर दाल के लिए खेती के लक्ष्य पूरे नहीं हुए, क्योंकि बुवाई वाले क्षेत्र पिछले साल के आंकड़ों से कम रहे।
