US House Passes Sweeping Russia Sanctions Bill

The US House of Representatives has passed a bipartisan bill imposing sweeping sanctions on Russia over its ongoing war in Ukraine. The legislation, which passed with a 262-159 vote, aims to restrict funds sent to Moscow by allowing the president to impose tariffs on countries importing Russian energy. It also targets Russian officials, banks, and tankers. This marks the first time in over two years that Congress has passed legislation supporting Ukraine.

अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि सभा ने यूक्रेन में जारी युद्ध को लेकर रूस पर कड़े प्रतिबंध लगाने वाला एक द्विदलीय विधेयक पारित किया है। 262-159 वोटों से पास हुए इस कानून का मकसद रूसी ऊर्जा आयात करने वाले देशों पर राष्ट्रपति द्वारा टैरिफ लगाने की अनुमति देकर मॉस्को भेजे जाने वाले धन को रोकना है। इसमें रूसी अधिकारियों, बैंकों और टैंकरों को भी निशाना बनाया गया है। दो साल से अधिक समय में कांग्रेस द्वारा यूक्रेन का समर्थन करने वाला यह पहला कानून है।
