Harish Rawat Postpones 9 Thank You Yatras After Party High Command's Strict Instructions

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has postponed nine planned 'Thank You and Public Dialogue Yatras' following objections from the Congress high command. Party in-charge Kumari Selja had written to Rawat, stating that the programs were not discussed with the state leadership and questioned running personal events parallel to the organisation during an election year. Initially, Rawat proceeded with his yatra, but after meeting with Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, he changed his stance.

उत्तराखंड के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री हरिश रावत ने कांग्रेस हाईकमान की आपत्ति के बाद नौ 'धन्यवाद और जनसंवाद यात्राओं' को स्थगित कर दिया है। पार्टी प्रभारी कुमारी शैलजा ने रावत को पत्र लिखकर कहा था कि इन कार्यक्रमों पर राज्य नेतृत्व से चर्चा नहीं की गई थी और उन्होंने चुनाव वर्ष में संगठन के समानांतर व्यक्तिगत कार्यक्रम चलाने पर सवाल उठाया था। शुरुआत में रावत अपनी यात्रा पर आगे बढ़े थे, लेकिन कांग्रेस महासचिव के.सी. वेणुगोपाल से मुलाकात के बाद उन्होंने अपना रुख बदल दिया।
