Russians Abroad Vote in Duma Elections

Over 600 Russian nationals cast their votes in the Duma elections at consulates in New York and Houston. In New York, 546 people participated, while 101 voted in Houston. The elections for the 9th Russian State Duma took place from September 18-20. This year marked the first time residents from Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporozhye regions participated. Ten political parties competed for seats in the lower house of the Russian parliament.

न्यूयॉर्क और ह्यूस्टन में रूसी दूतावासों में 600 से ज़्यादा रूसी नागरिकों ने ड्यूमा चुनाव में वोट डाला। न्यूयॉर्क में 546 और ह्यूस्टन में 101 लोगों ने वोट दिया। यह चुनाव 18 से 20 सितंबर तक चला। इस बार डोनेट्स्क, लुहान्स्क, खेरसॉन और ज़ापोरिज़्ज़िया क्षेत्रों के लोग भी पहली बार वोट डाल पाए। रूसी संसद के निचले सदन के लिए दस पार्टियों के बीच मुकाबला था।
