Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty experienced a sharp intraday fall on Monday, reversing early gains due to elevated oil prices and rising bond yields. The BSE Sensex dropped over 747 points from its intraday high, while the Nifty 50 also slipped into the red. Geojit Investments noted that external headwinds like crude prices and US bond yields are currently dominating domestic factors. Sectoral losses were led by FMCG, PSU Bank, and IT indices, with India VIX, the fear gauge, spiking over 7%.
