IRCS to Track All Blood Banks in Andhra

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) will collect data on all 246 blood banks in Andhra Pradesh to upload onto the Blood Banks Management Software (BBMS). This initiative aims to prevent commercialisation, disease spread, and irregularities within the state's blood banking system. The IRCS coordinator stated that both government and private banks must digitally record blood availability, donor lists, and conduct mandatory disease tests. District Collectors will review monthly stock positions, enhancing transparency and curbing illegal blood sales.
