Marathi Film 'Gondhal' India's Oscar Entry

Marathi film ‘Gondhal’, directed by Santosh Davakhar, has been selected as India’s official entry for the 99th Academy Awards. The film will compete in the International Feature Film category at the Oscars 2027. Set in rural Maharashtra, it focuses on a traditional ritual. ‘Gondhal’ was chosen from 33 films and is the fourth Marathi film to receive this honour, following ‘Shwaas’, ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’, and ‘Court’.

संतोष दवाखर की मराठी फिल्म ‘गोंधळ’ को 99वें एकेडमी अवॉर्ड्स के लिए भारत की आधिकारिक एंट्री चुना गया है। यह फिल्म ऑस्कर 2027 में इंटरनेशनल फीचर फिल्म कैटेगरी में मुकाबला करेगी। महाराष्ट्र के ग्रामीण परिवेश पर आधारित यह फिल्म एक पारंपरिक अनुष्ठान पर केंद्रित है। 33 फिल्मों में से चुनी गई ‘गोंधळ’ यह सम्मान पाने वाली चौथी मराठी फिल्म है।
